Te Reo/Kapa Haka

Students at Greenhithe School develop an appreciation and understanding of Tikanga Maori. They develop their Te Reo vocabulary through learning waiata and developing language skills integrated across a range of learning areas. All students participate in activities that reflect and affirm Tikanga Maori, including Matariki celebrations and Maori language week. We have a specialist tutor who supports our learners in each year group throughout the year.
Students in year three to six participate in Kapa Haka and senior students have the opportunity to join our dynamic Kapa Haka performance group. They perform at school wide and community events as well as alongside other schools at a cultural festival.
