Maths

At Greenhithe School, we believe that all students can become confident mathematicians. Students develop an understanding of mathematics in different ways, for example by exploring visuals, holding group discussions, practical activities and using mathematical materials. Therefore during class lessons, students are engaged in mathematics through hands on learning alongside their peers. Students learn skills that they will be able to use, and find relevance for, within everyday situations. Maths lessons align with the New Zealand Curriculum and include the three learning areas: number and algebra, geometry and measurement, and statistics. These learning areas are taught through problem solving activities involving real life contexts.
