CARING FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS – THE CODE

When you come to New Zealand to study as an international student, Greenhithe School has a responsibility to ensure that you are well informed, safe and properly cared for.

In New Zealand we call this ‘pastoral care’. You are entitled to be treated fairly, at all ages and at all levels of education.

To support this, the New Zealand government has developed the Education (Pastoral Care of International Students) Code of Practice 2016 (the Code).

The Code of Practice Information for Parents  This pamphlet was produced for international students and their families. It is also available in other languages:

Students and parents may experience a range of problems and difficulties. This is normal. Any problem should firstly be taken to the Director of International Students. Serious problems should be directly reported to the Principal.
