Principal’s News

We are continuing to encourage our wonderful children to use their PRIDE values in all aspects of school life. Our PRIDE values of Perseverance, Respect, Initiative, Diligence and Excellence are very important to us at school and are displayed on the posts by our main entrance. The children are reminded about what these values look like in many contexts around our school both on the sports field and when learning in the classroom. We love giving our PRIDE certificates when we catch children showing our values, these are then displayed in the office, before coming home with the children. It is certainly one of the highlights of my day to see these values being shown around our school.  In the last two weeks, the children who have gained these awards are: Amelie Turnbull, Amelia Lay, Quinn Botting, Asher Joseph, Ashleigh McEntee and Abigail Batchelor.

Our Amazing Kids!

I was fortunate to be the recipient of an amazing performance by our children and Kapa Haka group yesterday! I love hearing our kapa haka children perform! I also spent a bit of time at the Northern Bays Football tournament today. Our kids, as always, not only perform well, but behave well and show lovely sportsmanship! I’d like to thank all the supporters and coaches who went along today! All of our students have been busy designing artwork for calendar art, a fundraiser we do every two years. More information will come out about this in a few weeks time.

Donations and Activity FeesI’d like to say thank you to those who have made their school donation and paid the activity fees, without your contributions, we couldn’t offer the sporting, cultural or educational opportunities we can at Greenhithe School. If you need to still make your donation or pay the activity fee for term 3, please use the Kindo payment portal to make your contribution

Enrolments

It’s lovely to see the children visiting and starting school with us. We are filling our existing classes rapidly! If you have a child who will start with us this term or later this year, please contact the school so we can ensure we have time to recruit the best teachers we can, to give our new children the best start to their schooling journey with us. Enrolment information can be found on the school website. If you have friends who may also have children starting with us this year or next year, please encourage them to get in touch (09-4139838 or [email protected]).

PTA

Our amazing PTA continues to put time and a great deal of hard work into raising money and providing some great activities for both our community and our kids! You will have seen the letter about the Mathathon, the information about the Beats Bingo night for our parents coming up, as well as the cook book they have been working very hard on! We are very lucky as a school to have such an engaged and passionate group who support us to give our children the best opportunities we can.

Where you can, please support the PTA events and fundraising opportunities!

Albany Junior High school – ‘Tour Tuesdays’ – For this term only!

Community Connections

Greenhithe is a MITEY School

At Greenhithe School we are mentally healthy and feel a sense of belonging when we feel respected, valued and heard. Ideas and well being are valued, ensuring that everyone feels supported and appreciated.

Time is taken to build and nurture relationships.

From the Art Room

Another amazing term in the art room, students learning lots of different skills and being creative in a musical, dramatic, or artistic way. Calendar Art will be on display in classes very soon.

Greenhithe PTA

The Greenhithe School PTA have been very busy over the past few months working on the ‘Flavours of Home’ Cookbook.  Thank you to all the families who have contributed; the recipes are just yum!  Launch and pre-orders will be happening later in Term 3 so watch out for our communications.

Term 2 saw very successful Neon Discos, Pre-Loved Uniform Sales, Cross Country Sausages and Iceblocks and a popular Pizza Lunch.  Thanks for supporting these activities and to the parents who volunteered time to help.

Term 3 will be a very busy one with not only the cookbook but also Math-athon and our parent only activity ‘Beats by Bingo’.  An event held in the school hall which will bring out the competitor in us all!

Fundraising this year has gone to support the cover for the sandpit, the basketball hoops, and will go to tidy up the road area and fence on Isobel Road and the roll out of the new literacy curriculum. We meet monthly on a weekday evening to discuss all things related to school life, provide a forum for community feedback, and fundraise for additional school resources. Our goal is to continue to grow and nurture the great positive community we have within the school and wider Greenhithe.
Everyone is welcome and is encouraged to come and participate. All of these wonderful initiatives need community support, so please reach out via our email ([email protected]) to find out more!
