Dear parents,
Congratulations to the children who have been awarded a PRIDE certificate in the two weeks. It is always lovely to see our school values being used around our school. In the last little while, these children have been awarded a certificate: Rylee Faaee, Chloe Emirali, Olivia Stewart, Sofia Sandhu, Arshpreet Kaur and Felix Chen.
School Protocols
Thank you for supporting our health and safety protocols for adults on site, these protocols also support the lockdown and emergency processes, this is important so we know who is at school and to ensure the safety of your children. Please do not go to the classrooms to pick up a child to go home early or drop items off. Please go directly to the office.
Please remember:
- To drop any items to the office like a lunch box.
- To call into the office if you are picking your child up for an appointment or to leave early. The office staff will then send for the child to meet you up at the office, this ensures we know who is on site at any time.
- At 8.45am, on the settling bell, parents should be leaving the classroom to allow the children time to settle in and prepare for the day of learning ahead.
School Donations and Activity Contributions
These donations and contributions allow us to be able to run special days at school and have amazing trips for your children. Our team leaders are working on their trips for term 2 and 3 at the moment, without the activity contributions, these trips will be unable to go ahead. Thank you for supporting us to give your child the best opportunities we can.
School Donation – $55 per term or $220 for the whole school year. The amount for 3rd or
subsequent children will remain at $37.50 per term or $150 for the whole school year.
Classroom Activity Contributions – $40 per term or $160 for the whole school year.
Kindo is our preferred method for all your school payments. We also have links for you to follow on our school website in the Community Connect section or in the drop down on the Info tab.
If you have any trouble setting up or accessing your Kindo account, please follow the help links on the Kindo website.
Disco Night
On the 21st, I have asked Damien Shaver, the Deputy Principal from Albany Junior High School to come along and be available to chat to parents in years 4,5 and 6. For many of our children AJHS is the next school they go to after leaving us in year six. We work with them to make the transition as smooth as we can. We work closely with Demian in a number of areas, including transitions for our kids to AJHS. He is available to have a chat and answer questions about the school.
During the disco, both Junior and Senior, myself and members of the leadership team will also be in room 14 (next to the hall) for a chat or to ask questions.
We would love to hear from you regarding future property projects you can see a need for and we will be asking for some input into ideas for a graduate profile (what traits, skills and knowledge you would like all children who leave our school in year six to be able to display). I will also have the new wide brimmed school hat option, that came about from feedback at our last consultation, available to have a look at!
Senior Cross Country
Last week we had an amazing afternoon at our cross country event. With the weather that week, we certainly chose a great day for our event!
A massive thank you to all the teachers and support staff who marshalled, recorded and supported the children. A special thank you to our fabulous PTA and their helpers for the BBQ! I know the sausages were appreciated by the kids. I also know the coffee van was appreciated by the adults! The efforts of every single child who participated was amazing. I certainly saw every child displaying our value of perseverance. Thank you to our parents who came and cheered on all of the children. Every cheer for each child gives them the motivation to run a little further.
I was so proud of every one of our children who participated!
2024 Enrolments
If you have a child who will be joining our school in 2024 can you please contact the office to begin the enrolment process. This is vital to ensure we can secure the best teachers for our school. With the well publicised teacher shortages it is important we know our numbers to help us secure the best teachers for your children.
