Our PRIDE values of Perseverance, Respect, Initiative, Diligence and Excellence are very important to us at school. The students who have been awarded these PRIDE certificates this week are: Sienna Visser, Eveline Zheng, Mia Li, Takumi Macdonald, Francis Patalen and April Zhang.
Change in Weather and Uniforms
The weather is definitely becoming more autumnal and I would like to make some reminders about our uniform requirements please.
- Any long sleeved top worn under the school shirt MUST BE NAVY BLUE AND PLAIN.
- Only school fleeces should be worn over the top, any other jumpers, hoodies etc will not be allowed and the children asked to remove them.
- Jeans are not suitable for school. Any shorts, skorts, skirts and trousers must be plain and navy blue.
- School raincoats can be purchased as well.
Our children look very smart in their uniform, please ensure your child’s uniform meets our requirements.
Morning Routines
Our 8.45am bell is our settling bell for the students, and parents are asked to have left the classroom at this time, in order for the students to have some time to talk to their teacher, catch up with friends and prepare for the day. Thank you for your support in this.
Activity Contributions for Term Two and School Donations
A massive thank you to those who have already made their activity contribution for term 2. These are vital to ensure we can support your child’s learning at school through exciting trips and experiences, like the recent drumming workshops!
Our 2024 contribution requests remain unchanged from last year and are as follows:-
Classroom Activity Contributions – $40 per term or $160 for the whole school year.
Your school donation can also be made at any time. School Donation – $55 per term or $220 for the whole school year. The amount for 3rd or subsequent children will remain at $37.50 per term or $150 for the whole school year.
Kindo is our preferred method for all your school payments and the following pages have all the information you need for setting up your account if you are a new family to Greenhithe School or you were unable to set an account up last year. We also have links for you to follow on our school website in the Community Connect section or in the drop down on the Info tab.
Jumping June
Just a reminder that Greenhithe School are going to fundraise for the Heart Foundation charity so they can research into new and innovative treatments for heart disease and specialist training for doctors. On the 7th June we will be holding our Jumping June event where children will have different skipping activities to do. We will have a non uniform school day on the 7th where children can wear the colour red. This will be a gold coin donation. Thank you for your support.
Whānau ki te Ako is pleased to present Arletta van den Bosch at Albany Senior High School – Autism, Anxiety and Emotional Regulation Workshop
Our Kahui Ako group of collaborating schools (Albany Senior High, Albany Junior High, Albany Primary, Coatesville School, Ridgeview School, Upper Harbour Primary and ourselves) are presenting the following free workshop for parents and families on 19th June.
At Greenhithe School we have hosted sessions with Arletta for our staff already this year, to ensure we are supporting all our learners at school the best we can.

Arletta is a counsellor, originally from the Netherlands, but has been living and working in Aotearoa New Zealand since 2011. She has a passion for Autism and working with Neurodiverse youth and adults. In her private practice she supports young people and their families, as well as autistic adults, working with their strengths and interests, supporting mental health, independence and what a good life looks like for the individual person. Next to this, Arletta provides training and Professional development on Autism-related topics for education, mental health providers, workplaces, and communities.
Arletta will be sharing her knowledge and experience in the areas of autism, anxiety, and emotional regulation at our workshop on the 19th of June.
