Dear parents and caregivers,
I often hear of the initiative shown by our students at our school, the excellence they are able to produce in their learning and the respect they show to peers and staff. I continue to look forward to seeing the values of Perseverance, Respect, Initiative, Diligence and Excellence being shown across the school through the rest of the term. I have certainly seen our values shown in our school production this week! I look forward to passing out some of our special certificates to those who are observed using their PRIDE values. This week the following students have been awarded a PRIDE certificate: Jack Farr, Paige Rawson, Ilhan Ali, Riley Henry, Rewan Tonkin, Rico Neilson, Judah Patayon, Jungmin Han, Luka Schultz, Harry Steele, Roman Duff, Taylor Watts, Isla Ramsey and Carter Guest.
Night at the Movies
We have had a very busy week at school! The performance of the ‘Night at the Movies’ ’show was amazing. All four performances were fantastic! I am so proud of each and every dancer, from year 3 to year 6 who took part, many putting themselves outside their comfort zones to perform on a stage in front of a packed hall. We had over 300 children perform, offering opportunities for those who excel in the arts. I would like to thank our teachers and support staff, who worked tirelessly for many weeks to bring this together. I’d also like to thank our PTA who supported us with ticketing, those stunning programmes and merchandise. I would like to thank Charlene Boyd. She coordinated, planned and executed a fabulous show, giving our children such an amazing opportunity.
As a school we continue to strive for academic excellence, but it is vital that, at primary school, the children get opportunities to show excellence and participate in the arts and sports. In these areas our children can embrace new experiences and opportunities, and take risks to try new things. Watching these performances over this week has made me very proud of our children and our teachers and support staff.
School Office
We are undertaking some office renovations, this means our friendly office staff will be based in our Board Room until further notice, just round the corner. We are doing some redecoration of the office area.
You still need to come to the temporary office to sign children in and out and to drop off any items for the team to take to your child’s class. The door may be closed to keep the warm air in, but please just come in!
If possible we ask that any other requests are sent in by email or phone until further notice.
2023 and 2024 Enrolments
If you have a child who will be joining our school in either 2023 or 2024 can you please contact the office to begin the enrolment process. This is vital to ensure we can secure the best teachers for our school. With the well publicised teacher shortages it is important we know our numbers to help us secure the best available teachers for your children. If you know of any families through daycare or kindy that also may have children joining us in 2023 or 2024, can you please ask them to come and see us.
School Protocols
Thank you for supporting our health and safety protocols for adults on site. These are important so we know who is at school and to ensure the safety of your children. Please do not go to the classrooms to pick up a child to go home early.
Please remember:
- To drop any items to the office (now located in the boardroom), such as lunchboxes.
- To call into the office if you are picking your child up for an appointment or to leave early. Our office staff will then send for the child to meet you up at the office, this ensures we know who is on site at any time.
Ngā mihi
