Our PRIDE values of Perseverance, Respect, Initiative, Diligence and Excellence are very important to us at school. The children are reminded about what these values look like in many contexts around our school, including in the playground, at events like cross country and when learning in the classroom. It is one of our highlights to see these values being shown around our school. We acknowledge those children who get these awards in the newsletter. In the last two weeks, the children who have gained these awards are: Amira Campbell, Karlos Wan, Frankie Fagan.
Senior Cross Country
I was so proud of our children during the school cross country at Wainoni Park. Those runners who excelled put in some amazing performances. I would also like to congratulate those who run, jogged and walked. I was so proud to see our value of perseverance so clearly shown! Watching kids so determined to finish and powering through what, for some, is a big challenge was so inspiring! A big thank you to our wonderful PTA for the sausages and support, I know the coffee and ice cream truck was very much appreciated! I also want to thank Sharon Hilton Jones for the wonderful organisation of the event.
Safe Driving:
Please don’t use the bus stop as a drop off point and refrain from dropping off over driveways. I know our neighbours appreciate your support and it helps keep your child safe around the roads and crossings. The visibility for our amazing crossing team is impaired by parking on the yellow lines, even for a minute. We don’t want one of our kids injured or worse, as a result of someone parking illegally and causing an accident.
We have asked Auckland Transport and Police to drop by to ensure our kids are safe. They will be looking specifically at parking by the crossings and the bus bay.
Disco Parent Opportunity
With the school disco on Friday 9th June being highly anticipated by the kids, we also wanted to give our parents something to do during the disco! The Board and the School Leadership team will be hosting an opportunity to show you our plans for both the building by Isobel Road and an exciting design for a new playground for year 0-3 kids. This design has been aided by contributions from the children and also brings in some of our local history. We would love to share this with you and get some feedback on what you think. This is not only an opportunity to have a look at some of our future plans, but we will also provide a glass of wine and some cheese and crackers! Please call in and see us, meet some other parents and have a look at our plans.
