To parents and whanau,
End of Term 3
We have reached the end of term 3! My reflection on the term is that it has been lovely to feel we are getting back to the school we want to be after the massive disruptions to our routines. The art show, open afternoon, maths evening and the sports assembly show us returning to a school where we can welcome parents back into our buildings to see the learning, celebrate the amazing creativity and talents of our children and share the journey of your child. Over the last couple of years we have missed the interaction. Watching a child share their learning with a parent is always wonderful to see.
Term 4 also brings opportunities to keep involved in the school life, whether coming in to see your child’s classroom before school, supporting one of the amazing PTA events such as Golf Day or The Summer Festival, helping on a trip or experience with the class or attending and supporting your child on Athletics day. We look forward to seeing you at our events or just around the school.
I hope your child has a safe and restful break and we look forward to another exciting term!
Pride Awards
In our final weeks of the term it has been wonderful to see the children using our values around the school. Our final recipients of the PRIDE certificates for this term are: Beau Hoult, Harper Beshara, Ethan Kwon, Taylor Plowman, Eli Sharples, Shaam Nathoo, Ash Hurst, Keenan Willoughby, Kei Chanakha and Amelie Prentice.
Building Work in the Holidays
During the upcoming school break we have several building and maintenance projects going on. We always try to put as many of these as we can into holidays to minimise disruption during the term. We have drainage work, roofing and several other projects going on right through the holidays. If your child comes onto the site during the break they need to be aware there will be areas closed off and work occurring. Please ensure that they know to adhere to signage that is there to protect the public and keep people safe.
Teacher Only Day
November 25th will be a teacher only day. The school will be closed.
Our New Board
I would like to welcome our new Board. We held our first meeting this week and I can say that we have a board who are fully committed to ensuring our school provides the best learning environment for your children to thrive. Our board consists of Kathy Frame, Samantha Ebel Brown, Reece Leggett, Paul Steele, Tilly Harvey, Greg Duff and Zara Fletcher. I am really looking forward to working with them.
Readathon
Thank you to those who have signed up for the Read A Thon fundraising at Greenhithe School. It is great to see the enthusiasm already in supporting such a wonderful opportunity for children to enjoy the wonders of reading!
Our Read A Thon is run by a New Zealand based, online fundraising company, Raise It. Collecting sponsorship online makes it super easy for everyone – no more door knocking, your child can collect more donations from further afield (friends and family living overseas, work colleagues etc) and there is no need to worry about handling cash and bringing it into school!

Congratulations to our first spot prize winner Kenneth Shi from RM 22, who won an active camera. There will be plenty of spot prizes next term.
